the start of something great

This is going to be the first of many heart wrenching and thought provoking posts that are guaranteed to make the few people that read this weep with happiness, sadness and other emotions that you can weep to. My journey began back in September 2008 when I embarked on a different and altogether less enjoyable adventure of finding a job. And my goodness what a boring and tedious adventure it was but after applying to 4 job sites, going into 3 job searching agencies and contacting anyone I knew who had a job I finally gave up. Towards the end of September I realise that I might actually need money if I wanted to go travelling so I resorted to working at M&S doing the dreaded NIGHT SHIFTS!! At first this proved to be quite fun as twister and hide and seek around the store was a dailly occurance but this fun was just a massive cover up for the nightmare i had got myself into and that nightmare was................. JESUS' BIRTHDAY!!!!! You may have been lead to believe that Christmas is one day oh no its far more than that its.......... 3 months. As a newbie at M&S i automatically drew the short straw and over these 3 months i had to stock Christmas food filling up my 8 hour shift and leaving no time for twister or hide and seek. However i was offered a bed in the homewear section that i could use (to sleep in) whenever i had a break which proved to come in handy as work was harder than hard. As Christmas got closer and closer the opening times got longer and longer meaning i would be able to see customers which was actually quite exciting. i imagine people in prison get this same feeling when people come to visit them but i dont plan to find out. i was not sure what to expect from customers at Christmas time as i had herd some fantastic stories of old ladies fighting over stollen and people crying when the walnut whips ran out of stock but none of this happened it was just dull. Anyway i have finished now and had my leaving interview which kind of confused me as i didn't realise i had to interview to leave so i went into it hopeing that i would pass and be able to leave. Luckily i passed and went to the nearest card shop to buy myself a well done you passed your leaving interview card but sadly couldn't find one. So coming out the other side i have worked 26880 long, hard minutes and raised enough money to go on My Little Adventure.
